Random Acts of Gratitude - brought to you by AMAC

Veterans Day

United States Flag

It's more than just a day off to many of us. It's a day to pay respects to all who've served our country. How does a nation say thank you to those men and women? By showing gratitude, that's how. Which is why AMAC has launched its 1st "Random Acts of Gratitude" month.

Veteran handshake

We're asking all Americans to perform a random act of gratitude for a veteran this month – the month of Veterans Day. If you see a soldier at a restaurant, pick up the tab. If you own a business, reach out and see if there's a vet in the area who needs a job. Send a gift to a vet you know, or just say thank you to anyone you know who's served. Let our participating radio hosts know what you've done by calling and emailing their shows.

That's AMAC's way of saying Thank You. AMAC's way of honoring our vet's sacrifices.

Also, it's one more good reason to join AMAC - the conservative alternative to AARP. Because our values are your values. And there is nothing we value more than those men and women who defend our liberties at home and abroad.

A Salute to the Band of Brothers

The last 7 minutes of "Band of Brothers" may be the greatest tribute to our nation's veterans ever made. Here it is. And here are those words from Shakespeare's Henry V, and his great St. Crispin Day speech. The words were written in 1598.

"This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember'd;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."
